Meet Kayla
Hi, I’m Kayla, the founder of Shaka Billing Collective.
I started my career as a Mental Health Therapist after earning my Masters degree in Social Work. This led me to co-owning a mental health practice where I managed the credentialing, billing, and management of multiple providers. My work as a therapist and private practice owner gives me a unique understanding of the nuances of the other side of the work that I do now in my billing and credentialing.
I have years of experience in both the mental health fields, and the primary care medical fields in both billing and credentialing. I strive to provide accurate, honest, and efficient care in the work that I do because I understand how important it is for patients to receive care.
My work with patients in my own practice gives me an acute understanding of the importance of fighting for coverage, timely billing, and accuracy in documentation.
My goal is to work in tandem with a practice to build a strong foundation for success, so they can continue to provide the important work they do.
I come from a Hawaiian family and the values of community, compassion, and trust are engrained in me. I founded Shaka Billing Collective because it embodies the relaxed and united front that I strive to establish with the teams I work with. I look forward to working with yours. Aloha always.
